Moller Instruments

Charles Moller began making lutes in 1978, hurdy-gurdies in 1982, steel pans in 1993 and hand pans 2016.

He has trade qualifications from TAFE NSW in French polishing, and graining and marbling. He completed the fine woodworking course at Sturt School for Wood (Mittagong NSW).

In 1994 he went to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago to learn steel pan making and tuning from Leroy Thomas. In 2002 he received further instruction at Coyle Drums (Pensacola Florida) and Panyard (Akron Ohio).

He has a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in mathematics, and several teaching qualifications. He has forgotten most of the maths.

The workshop is located behind the shed door shown above, in Marrickville, an inner west suburb of Sydney Australia.
